Plataformas, animation for documentary series
Plataformas is a documentary series that explores the future of work and the platform economy from multiple perspectives. Over the course of four episodes, it analyzes the real impact of app-based jobs on users and on the broader ecosystem of major cities in the region.
This project is part of the Video Accelerator program organized by the Facebook Journalism Project and the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ).
As part of the animation team for Plataformas, I worked closely with the director, designer, and editor to craft a visually coherent and engaging identity for the series. From the early stages, I contributed to the development of the visual language by aligning animation style and transitions with the documentary’s narrative structure and emotional tone.
We aimed to create motion sequences that complemented the interviews, archival material, and on-screen graphics without overwhelming the content. This required constant dialogue with the editorial and design teams to ensure consistency and impact. The result is a hybrid visual approach that blends journalism, animation, and contemporary aesthetics to tell complex social stories in an accessible and powerful way.
